How to stay warm in cold Barcelona

How odd does that title sound to you? I slowly shaking my head but it is true. It is starting to get freaking cold inside as the winter comes closer. Since heating is not really something that is commonly used in Barcelona here are some tips for you to check out:

When in your apartment, wear layers of clothes (do I sound like your mum?) the more synthetic fabric the better, or silk! Cotton is useless really. If it is a sunny day, open up the blinds and let the sun in (works the other way around in the summers) and close the doors to the rooms you are not using to contain the heat. Other useful tips is to cook food in the oven and leave it open afterwards (this is a claim of a friend) and light lots of candles (very efficent).

And when it comes to sleeping?

Well sleep with several blankets – it keeps you warm and it’s heavy, puts you to sleep in no time. And well… There is nothing better to keep you warm than body heat. Share your bed with someone this winter and you wont even notice the cold weather.
