While I was sleeping…

Why was I kidding myself thinking that getting up at 11am Sunday morning was reasonable and responsible?

Little did I know that over 4000 people were running a 21 km course through the streets of Barcelona while I was asleep.

The Asics Barcelona Half Marathon took place Sunday morning beginning at 9am and 1 hour and 2 minutes later Kenyan Alex Kirui was the first to cross the line.
The Barcelona Half Marathon is increasing in popularity and prestige and this year over 500 athletes travelled from abroad to take part. The Half Marathon is often used as a warm to for the Barcelona Marathon that takes place on March 1st.

Well done to all who took part on Sunday and watch out because I’ve taken up running and next year I’ll be up there with the best of you!

Well that’s if they reschedule the race to start around 13.30. Its just a more reasonable hour…
